Raising Parents

My daughter just celebrated her first birthday – a perfect time to introduce you to a new picture book by Ueberreuter Verlag:

Eltern richtig erziehen

RAISING PARENTS by Katharina Grossmann-Hensel

Everyone knows that parents aren’t perfect! So when a child first learns to talk, it’s time to pass on some kid rules. Whether it’s choosing what to wear or controlling phone etiquette, it is always important to keep parents in tow. The feisty little heroine in Katharina Grossmann- Hensel’s humorous and witty new picture book shares all of the steps required for effective Parent-Raising. In the end, she decides not be too demanding, even to give her parents a hug and kiss. And when a tiny sibling is born, the fun will begin all over again! Zany episodes from „normal“ family life enhanced by wacky illustrations. The perfect gift for stressed-out parents, too!

Another star!

Ueberreuter/G&G has recently taken on the children’s list of the Austrian publisher Residenzverlag called Nilpferd Verlag. They have an incredible and unique list and one of their titles has also been nominated for the German Youth Literature Award – in the category Non-Fiction.

Kritzl und Klecks

KRITZL & KLECKS by Verena Ballhaus and Renate Habinger

Scribble & Smudge – A nonfiction picture book on drawing, painting and making books.

Mr Scribble is made of lines, Ms Smudge is made of shapes. Together they have a wonderful day full of coloured pencils, paintbrushes, colours, forms and creative ideas. What can you draw with a piece of uncooked spaghetti? How do you build grass stilts? What happens when you eat too many smudges? How a few lines and spots of colour can become an entire book – that is what our two experts teach us with a light-hearted tone. With several foldout pages, this book offers many surprises and ideas for creative fun. A delicious treat for your eyes, with lots to discover and try!
